Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach at a public school in an urban district, and my special education students love to read and need more books that are from their life experience. These books also cover many art forms and artists - many of my special needs students find joy and comfort in drawing and artistic pursuits. Giving them books about art will inspire them to read in their extra time in my classroom.

These books cover diverse characters, true life stories, and the experiences of diverse artists from the US and abroad.

I'm thrilled that my students may have more books in our library that they can relate to.
