Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

There are approximately 200 students at our school. The students come to school each and every day ready to learn something new. At our school with a focus on gifted and talented students, teachers are able to elaborate and extend all of their lesson with the students.

We are growing gifted leaders, one talent at a time.

Our school is also a Leader in Me campus, meaning all of our students learn that they have leadership potential, that they have the ability to make contributions, and that working together will improve their school. They also realize that everything they are learning at school about being leaders can be used in their personal lives outside of school.

My Project

My students have showed high interest in reading books and completing projects that pertain to what they are learning. When we studied the Jamestown Colony and the Wampanoag Indians, the students were highly intrigued.

These materials will supplement my lessons and make them even more exciting.

One of the books will connect well with what the students have learned in social studies. After studying the Wampanoag Indians, the students will make wampum belts using the beads, looms, and needles. The other book will be used in a science project that the students will find out about in the spring. Thanks in advance for supporting my classroom and allowing my students a chance to extend their learning.
