This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have the privilege of teaching six amazing students in grades K-2. They are sweet, energetic and full of wonder. All of my students have communicative disorders and deficits in social as well as cognitive domains. As one of their first learning experiences I strive to create an environment that is safe, fun and engaging.
It is inspiring to see these students reach milestones that one might take for granted.
With the right support, the sky is the limit for my students!
My Project
Most of my students are diagnosed with Autism and they have deficits in processing information. We utilize a color coding system in the class in order to help with this issue.
Any way I can keep the class remain organized and on task is a beneficial and keeps my students focused and gather new information.
The colored clipboards as well as dry erase markers and colored paper will impact my students tremendously in regards to processing and on task. In addition, we use hands-on and interactive pieces so the laminating pouches will help keep these materials last much longer.
