Our students are dynamic individuals who attend our school for either visual arts or performing arts. Their imaginations are second to none.
Our students are quite unique, as they have to audition to attend our school of the arts.
They are creative, imaginative, and are from all walks of life and economic backgrounds. Using a hands-on approach and "learning by doing," our students are taught the arts by both full-time professional teachers certified in their arts disciplines and area, and national professionals who teach master classes throughout the academic year. Almost half of our students are on free or reduced-price lunch.
My Project
As the only grades 6-12 visual and performing public arts magnet in our area we are constantly putting on shows, or hosting special events for the region. Not only do we put on over 100 events a year, we partner with most of the local arts community and allow them to use our space.
Unfortunately, we lack folding tables, and table skirts for our students, their booster organizations, or community partners to set-up in preparation for their events.
Currently, we scramble around campus removing tables from classrooms, and wherever we can find them to run these events. Sometimes, we are moving tables out of classrooms that teachers really would prefer we don't.
This project would fund the tables and table skirts.
