Everything Is Bigger and Better With the TI-84 Plus!
Help me give my students a TI-84 graphing calculator which is required on the state test. This will give students the chance to work on calculators that have the writing still on the buttons.
My students are full of energy. Some come to me full of anxiety about math but leave me with a feeling of accomplishment. They work hard because this class requires them to pass the state test as well as the class or they do not graduate. I love my students because they want to do well and they know that I care about them and their success. They are awesome and hard workers.
Most of my students can't afford to go buy a new TI-84 graphing calculator.
My students need this instrument for the state test which is a requirement to graduate. My students live in a rural area and most of their parents work at the local shipyard. Many of my students are living with their grandparents or older siblings.
My students work very hard and are very kind. They are typical teenagers with aspirations of doing something grand with their life. I try to make math fun and to encourage their love for the subject. They always want to do well though some struggle. They know to give up is not an option in my classroom. They know I believe in each of them.
My Project
The TI-84 Plus graphing calculator will be used on a daily basis. It will be nice to have calculators whose backs aren't taped on so the batteries will not fall out. It will be nice to have students be able to find the button they need without my having to come to write the label back on with a Sharpie. The graphing calculator is a requirement for our state exam. Students will use these to explore math topics and receive immediate feed back.
My calculus students will love these calculators for exploring integrals and limits.
These students are challenging and love to be challenged. This instrument will make it easier for them to explore and understand the why and how in calculus.
