My students are from a rural area. They are from low socio-economic backgrounds to middle class backgrounds. Many of my students' parents are blue-collar workers. My school is a Title I school. These students attend a school in which technology has not been updated since Hurricane Katrina. The outdated computers fail quite often. The two rolling computer labs no longer work. We are expected however to prepare ALL of our students for online testing. This is difficult to do with over 850 students and 2 labs that are severely outdated. My students need the opportunity to practice online procedures to feel comfortable within the technological realm for state testing. Sharing the lab with other classrooms just does not work.
