“A teacher takes a hand, opens a hand, and touches a heart.” (Unknown author) The reason I chose this powerful quote was because I believe it represents the philosophy in my daily work. I teach in a preschool class-based program in a special education early childhood center. There is a special place in my heart for my exceptional students.
If you take a peek in my classroom, you will see seven children, ages 2-5, who have great POTENTIAL!
You will notice how diverse are my students. They come from different ethnic, cultural, and economic backgrounds. My students have a variety of skills, talents, and (dis)ABILITIES. I really hope that when you look at my students, you will see their abilities, positive attitude, and above all, their happiness. If you have time, stop by my classroom to celebrate the achievements, both big and small, of children who face adversity every single day. Nothing will bring you more joy than watching students succeed beyond the expectations.
My Project
In our Early Childhood Special Education Center, we love to print materials in COLOR! We use colored paper sometimes, but we love the richness of printing in color.
Colorful materials make everything so much more engaging for our little learners.
We could print only in black and white, but that would be no fun for our students! What about name tags? And posters? And daily schedules? And all the other amazing things, such as file folders and interactive books. We need toner cartridges because the colorful materials provide information much quicker and enable our students to learn easily.
Also, the toner cartridges will enable 7 preschool teachers to be more effective educators and make their lessons fun and valuable. By using visually appealing materials we, the teachers, can help students love learning in a way that lets them harbor a passion for it throughout their lives.
