I teach a class filled with 23 students who are eager to learn. It's hard for some of my students to reach their full potential because they are lacking some of the necessary items. I love seeing my student finally grasp a topic that they have been struggling in because their faces just light up.
These students love having books in their hands or access to books online for them to read.
I can't wait to see how much we can grow this year as a class. These students are capable of so much and I am ready to push them as far as I can this year!
My Project
This project is to provide my students with more non-fiction books (and a few historical fiction) to read throughout the year. With these books the students will be able to transfer skills learned to their reading.
I have added biographies, informational texts, and some historical fictions books to help students apply the reading skills that we teach into the reading they do on their own.
Allowing the students to use these books will help them transfer reading skills learned to what they are reading independently. This will help them grow as readers.
