My Students

Our elementary school is a Title I school with 88% free and reduced lunch rate out of the 493 students. Test scores fall far below the state average. The state average for math is 65%, our kids scored 47% proficiency. A concerning amount of our students are not on grade level.

Set with many challenges that are out of the control of the students', our kids come in ready to learn and grow.

Our kids are resilient and are capable of great things.

My Project

These ready to use math games and centers will allow students to work and learn independently or in small groups. Hands on learning will engage students so they can understand operations, time, money, geometry and patterns on a more abstract level.

I hope to give our students the basic math skills they need to be successful now and in the future.

Seeing that our students struggle with math more than any other tested subject it is important to me that they get a solid foundation to grow on. Learning math through fun centers and games will help close the gap for the future.
