This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are all second and third graders in a neighborhood that struggles economically. About one hundred percent of our students qualify for free lunches and breakfast. That, however, does not diminish their excitement for learning, especially if you incorporate things they like doing.
They are smart and very capable students with a true love of learning through real experiences.
The economic challenges do, however, have an impact on what they have available to help them learn. These are changing times and we have to constantly look for ways to not only keep students engaged, but also build their skills to prepare for potential future careers. We know that the future will require critical thinking and problem-solving skills, but it also requires a stronger background and understanding of science and technology. My students love hands-on learning.
My Project
Its time to start getting ready for the new school year. We need some basic necessities to keep things clean and safe. My students eat breakfast in the room and we want to keep things clean and ant free. The Clorox wipes will go a long way to making that happen.
Every classroom needs tissue for the occasional runny nose or allergy issues.
We want to be prepared for these things as we kick off the new school year.
The locks will help keep our Breakout Boxes ready for engaging activities and the HDMI cable is needed to hook up our second camera to our broadcast system. The cable that came with it is not long enough to reach the video mixer. We hope you enjoy the summer.
