Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I recognized the talent my students had for art before I thought of even creating an art club in my school. I had a few students draw me these cute portraits on post it notes, or they would draw characters in the margins of their books. More often than not, they would stop me in the hall to show me what they drew in their sketch books or even gift me a drawing they made.

Please support me in bringing art back into my classroom and help inspire the young artists who may not even recognize that they are in fact artists!

My school got rid of Art as an elective 2 years ago due to budget cuts, and the kids yearn for a creative space and I'm excited to be given the opportunity to foster this excitement. This will be my first time leading an art club so I am very excited as well and hope you share my same excitement.
