Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have 52 fourth graders who come from low socioeconomic backgrounds. They are faced with many challenges that make them unique.
My students are eager to learn each and every day to gain new knowledge.
They want to make a difference one day as they know they are our future. They know and understand that being in school each and every day is vital. Education is the key to success and I want to make sure that I give them the tools they need to be successful.
My Project
My students don't always have the means to obtain the resources necessary to succeed in school. I would like to make sure that they have the basic resources necessary to be able to complete their work.
If this project succeeds, it will ensure that my students have what they need to finish out the school year strong, enabling them to focus less on ability to furnish resources and more on learning new skills.
I would like to stock my classroom with pencils, a pencil sharpener, pens, sticky notes, markers, crayons, dry erase markers, highlighters and color pencils ensure that students have quick and easy access to what they need to learn. They will use these materials when they are writing as well as creating art elements about what they are writing. The other essential item that is really necessary are headphones. The students reading/writing program that they use on a weekly basis, but they can not focus because of the lack of headphones.
