My students need laundry detergent and fabric softener for life essentials.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My class consists of 21 first-graders. My school is in an urban area. All students at my school receive free breakfast and lunch. These students overcome adversity every single day.
I have never seen such a caring and loving bunch of kids.
They are always eager to please the teacher. It seems like pleasing me, in return, makes them happy. I have a diverse classroom and students with various emotional and learning needs. My students enjoy coming to school every day, and most importantly, love to learn new things. They are such hard workers, and I enjoy watching them grow each day. They are hands-on learners, and I love to see their faces when they master a learning standard. I enjoy their innocence, motivation, and eagerness to learn. I am just as eager to provide them with the best resources to expand their learning.
Each day teachers are expected to educate students and prepare them for their future. We are to create tiny productive citizens-in-training. We are trained in curriculum and teaching methods. Our hearts are trained, by nature, to ensure our students have everything they need to stay safe and healthy. These items will be sent home to our families. These life essentials we take for granted but are important for everyone to have access to. Some of our students come from families of low economic status. Some families are homeless and live in shelters. The items requested will be able to truly help our families who are in need of necessities. It is important to have clean clothing. The laundry detergent will ensure our parents will still be able to provide clean clothing for their children.
Illness runs rampant in our room and we fight it every step of the way.
We need your help to stay clean and keep illness away. With access to free laundry detergent, they do not have that burden keeping their children's clothes from being washed.
These items will help the families in our community tremendously.
