This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Coming to the end of my first year of teaching I have realized I am missing a lot more in my classroom than I thought. I have had to make makeshift things to try and get some engaging lessons done. I am looking for essentials that the students will be using to elevate their learning. I want to be able to do a lot more hands on learning but I am lacking items like, glue sticks, whiteboards, scissors, etc. Items that are an essential part of any classroom.

These items will change how I teach and positively affect my students' learning.

There have been many times where multiple students have asked to borrow a ruler and the 2 I have are in use. I want to be able to have my students engaged in whiteboard activities, hands on projects, and simple things like measuring. In a science classroom these items are sometimes overlooked but coming to a close in my first year of teaching these are the items I find to be of most importance.
