Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Every student in my school receives free breakfast and lunch. We are located in a high needs area of Chicago.
My classroom currently serves students with the highest needs in regards to cognitive impairment, behavior, adaptive or functional skills, and life skills.
We tailor our classroom to meet each student’s individual needs and goals. We ensure that all of our students have an opportunity to learn and grow to their individual fullest potential. Our ultimate goal is for our students to be integrated members of their community.
My Project
We are back in the building and planning and prepping for next year. We are in need of individual cups to fill up at a our new water stations in the building. We also need new hygiene bags for our daily hygiene routine ( brushing teeth, brushing hair, nail care, etc). Last but not least we are interested in receiving coin/change purses that we can use for when in the community. We hope that next school year will be different and that we will be able to participate in community based instruction.
