My Project

My students are amazing individuals traveling from various communities and bringing unique experiences to create a rich classroom to accomplish a challenging goal, to grow academically and socially. Middle school is a critical time for adolescents to grow academically and socially. Therefore, it's important to remove unnecessary obstacles that they may face that can become barriers for their learning.

Essentially, too many students face barriers to learning when they don't have the basics (take home food {food insecurity}, clothes, toothbrushes/toothpaste, socks and undergarments, etc.).When we understand that our students are essential, we know they deserve better; as a result, I want to do better by seeking resources to properly serve my deserving students.

Seeking and providing resources like take home food, clothes, toothpaste, toothbrushes, socks, and undergarments may seem small to some, but it can make a BIG difference in the lives of many students. Providing these basic resources will play an essential role in sending students to school nourished, confident, and ready to learn with dignity.
