Essential Technology For Our Third Graders To Thrive!
My students need an iPad with protective case in our classroom, for the technology exposure and to benefit from the endless educational resources an iPad provides!

My third grade class is in desperate need of a technology makeover!
Simply put, my students are amazing!
They are an extremely diverse group who are talented, hardworking, and some of the kindest kids I've ever met! They attend a public school with very high English Language Learner and Special Education populations. Most students receive free or reduced lunch, and unfortunately, too many of them come from unstable homes. With these statistics, it's no wonder that our state standardized test scores are some of the lowest in the state.
My Project
In this digital age, our classroom is equipped with only two outdated computers for student use. With 21 students in our class, computer time is a rarity. An iPad is an educational dream! Aside from the students jumping at the chance to use one, iPads have a ton of educational possibilities. With an iPad, students will be able to research information, download digital literature, communicate with penpals using skype/email, create/edit their own movies or commercials on different topics, expand text sizes for differentiated access, download the hundreds of educational apps available, or enjoy a listening center together.
This educational tool in our classroom would increase motivation, allow students to be active learners, and work toward bridging the technology gap our students are facing.
