Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My kindergarten students go through consumables at a rapid pace. They are learning to write with a pencil and glue projects together. They are learning to use their creativity to express themselves through writing stories, illustrating, and creating.

At this point in the year, their pencils are small, their markers are dry, and their glue is empty.

Power words are commonly-used words that children are encouraged to memorize by sight, so they instantly recognize them in a text without having to take the time to sound them out. Adding fun activities like writing the words on sentence strips can be motivating to our youngest learners. I plan to have students write their words, laminate, put them on a ring, and then take them home to practice.

By donating to my classroom my students will be able to have a refreshed tool box of materials to assist them in their daily tasks for the remainder of the year.
