Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I work at a school that has a high percentage of students receiving free or reduced price lunch. A large proportion of the students are English Language Learners. I specifically work with the special needs population who are classified with a range of disabilities such as learning disabilities, speech and language impairments, and other health impairments.

Due to the range of needs that my students have, I need to teach them using a variety of modalities and that includes lots of visuals.

I plan on using the easel to post anchor charts to support my lessons, as well as use a variety of manipulatives for both reading and math lessons. In addition, the easel will benefit those students who are visual learners and need posters, schedules and reinforcement of lessons posted daily to refer back to in the room.
