Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This past year my school has suffered extreme budget cuts that included laying off 1/3 of our entire district staff. Teachers recognize that access to basic classroom supplies is a critical factor in students' success. By providing pencils, markers, art supplies, and organizational tools, we are removing a significant barrier for our students who come from underprivileged backgrounds. These materials empower them to actively participate in their learning, express their thoughts creatively, and stay organized, regardless of their economic circumstances.
By providing essential supplies, we are telling our students that they belong and are valued members of our learning community.
My students deserve the same quality learning experience that I have been giving in the past and they should not have to be negatively affected from the district's economic hardships.
