Essential Basics Needed for English Classroom!

My students need ink cartridges, a stapler, a three-hole punch, and paper clips to complete basic projects in my classroom please!

My Students

I am a high school English teacher located in a high-poverty area in rural North Carolina. Due to budget constraints in this tough economical time, all funding for basic supplies has been halted. As a result, our students are having difficulty completing basic projects and creativity has been stifled in my classroom. Although I try very hard to purchase many supplies on sale in the summer, I just can't afford to continue supplying my classroom. Please consider donating to our school so that students will continue to learn and grow while being prepared for college level classes in my English classroom.

According to the U.S.

Census Bureau, "The per capita income for the families served by our school is nearly 50% less than surrounding areas and significantly less than North Carolina's average." Because of this, my students are having trouble completing portfolios, printing research papers and projects and even stapling papers together. It would be great to offer these students the same opportunities as other students across the state so that they will be able to compete for jobs and college in the future.

My Project

Specifically, my students need both black and color ink cartridges for our printer so that the printer can be more than just a heavy paper weight and we can complete Graduation Projects, portfolios, collages, and creative projects in all of my classes. With these ink cartridges, there would be more on-task classroom time and increased participation in classroom activities. In addition, I am requesting a stapler, paper clips, and a three-hole punch to foster creativity and allow students to be able to create portfolios, etc. The supplies would have a huge impact on both current and future students in my classroom.

By donating, you will be making it possible for my students to be creative and innovative with projects as well as compete for college slots in the future.

These basic supplies will greatly enhance my teaching and my students' learning! Thank you for your consideration!
