Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I work with students who come from various backgrounds, many of whom are English Language Learners from low-income families who have the drive to learn. These students are friendly and love to be engaged and immersed in the English language and our school culture.

Many of my students have limited access to opportunities due to family structure and responsibilities.

Many of them are beginning a new life in this country and deal with isolation, transition, and adjustment to the expectations of a new culture and school system.

My Project

I teach English as a Second Language and English Language Arts and this year I have my own classroom. However, our walls a bit bare. I would love to start strong with my students to close the learning gap due to many aspects of the pandemic .

Instructional posters provide a rich input for language learners.

I will keep these posters up on our classroom walls where students can consult as needed for reference. Having access to visual information at all times will support students as they study grammar, vocabulary and literature.
