They're easy for students to use, and many enjoy turning them on during independent reading or hands-on tasks because it helps them focus.\r\nThe coat racks have also solved a big problem—students now have a designated place to hang their jackets and bags, which keeps the floors clear and our movement around the room much safer. This small change has helped us start class on time and reduced a lot of daily clutter.\r\nA few students who usually struggle to stay organized have especially benefited from the new setup. For students who often juggle difficult circumstances outside of school, this small change made them feel like their classroom was a place they could breathe easier, focus better, and feel proud to learn in. It showed them that their environment matters and that people beyond our school care about their well-being.\r\n\r\nOne project where these resources made an impact was during group presentations. Students were more willing to stay after school and work together because the room felt comfortable and calm. They mentioned how being in a clean, fresh space helped them concentrate when analyzing texts or preparing their arguments. Even something as simple as deodorant provided dignity for students who otherwise might avoid group settings. These details gave them confidence to engage more fully with each other and the work.\r\n\r\nThe next step for my students is to continue building community in this healthier environment. As we move into our unit on cultural comparisons and essay writing, students will spend more time collaborating in groups and sharing ideas.
