Mr. Stagg from Greenbelt MD is requesting lab equipment through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need an "escape the room" style activity set. Buy purchasing these locks and boxes, students can get engaged in an exciting, competitive, collaborative activity that would allow them to practice their problem solving skills.

Our students are hard-working and committed to building a strong academic foundation to provide them the skills to succeed in college and beyond. Some are STEM focused while others excel in the arts and music.
They yearn to be engaged in the classroom and can achieve amazing things when they get excited about the learning.
Some are aiming to be the first in their family to continue their education past high school. Others strive to become the future leaders of tomorrow.
The "Escape the Room" concept has been brought into the classroom to get kids excited about practicing their skills/knowledge. Students would work in teams to solve problems relating to various chemistry topics, moving from one clue to the next.
Kids don't want worksheets, they want to immerse themselves in challenging, exciting activities.
When students get to work in groups they can support each other's learning and gain new insights from their peers. Competition engages students who would otherwise zone out or just wait to do their work at home. These materials could be used in all levels of chemistry that I teach and could be reset and reused multiple times throughout the year.
