I teach 90 wonderful 6th graders, but work with 250 6th graders at different points in the year. These kids mostly come from low income homes with not much access to technology or new experiences. They are bright, hard working, and always willing to help. They are playful and considerate. They love reading more than anything! Teaching them when it is appropriate to read and when we need to close our books is the funniest battle I face! “Stop reading so much."
They love trying new things and are involved in as many clubs and activities as possible!
I would love to give my students a hands-on, interactive, and exciting way to learn and review material. With this Breakout EDU kit I will be able to create clues and puzzles for students to work together to solve. In this kit there are locks, invisible ink pens, and puzzles.
Our students are greatly lacking problem solving skills and need ways to work together to achieve a goal.
With this they will have to rely on each other to "escape school" and be successful. So many students want an easy answer, but this would force them to work hard, and they'll probably love it!
