I want dictionaries for my students to help them define unknown words to increase their comprehension. Right now I have 90 students in three different class periods. In one class 32 students share 5 dictionaries. They cannot look up unfamiliar words to help their understand of what they read. To have a class set would change their experience and save wasted time when they patiently wait for their neighbor to finish. We use dictionaries almost daily. Student have to find words that match the weekly prefixes. They also look up 5 unfamiliar words in each book they read, to check that they are reading within their reading level.
