This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students love to engage in discussions of current events and I enjoy bringing meaningful discussions to my classroom. They are from a low income, inner ring suburb of Cleveland, Ohio but work hard to find success in spite of many of their circumstances. The students I teach are in high school and often do not read outside of school and often have difficulty finding resources that interest and motivate them to learn history outside of school. They love to complete activities where they participate in the learning process.
My Project
Are my students ready to combine the fun of an escape room with some of the greatest events in US History? I think they are! These boxes from Breakout.edu will allow my students to work together to complete puzzles, use clues to decode information and read through sources from the past to solve the mystery of what really happened. There are over 40 scenarios in American history they can explore from participating in the American Revolution to the Cold War! In each scenario, students will have to use information from many different sources to solve the great mystery of what happened in each event. Don’t you wish History was this much fun when you were in school? It can be with your help.
