Escape Boredom with an Escape Room Experience!

My students need combination locks, key locks, padlocks, and lock boxes so that we can make an "escape room" for them to solve. Student engagement will be awesome!

My Students

My students are amazing! They are curious, funny, and enjoy our project-based classroom. My students are a really mixed group with all ranges of abilities, talents, and passions.

We focus on our individuality and how we contribute to the group.

Interdependence and teamwork are two of our big ideas we explore new, exciting ideas together.

We do lots of collaborative activities, and I love to see how working together builds individual confidence and fosters new friendships. They will love this!

My Project

To make a cool escape room we need a variety of locks, padlocks, puzzles, and lock boxes. We also want to use invisible ink and blacklights to make it really exciting. We are even including a lock with ancient Chinese symbols! This will be an opportunity for students to have fun while they are learning. The lockboxes are all reusable, so I will be able to create "escape room" scenarios for each unit. They will use a wide variety of skills, learn teamwork, and practice critical thinking.

Who doesn't love the challenge of "escaping?" Instead of a boring review, my students will get to challenge themselves and each other in some friendly competition!

It will be a great chance for students to learn the "soft skills" that are useful in the 21st century workplace. They are really going to rock this!
