My Students

My 5th grade students are energetic, caring, and diverse in learning abilities. They love to work together in small groups, but need more opportunities to develop teamwork and problem solving. I teach both Language Arts and Science and my students enjoy integrating these subjects.

My students learn best when they are having so much fun, they don't even realize they are learning.

Motivation is a key aspect for my students to succeed in the classroom, and they love friendly competition.

My Project

Building escape rooms into my curriculum is an innovative way to integrate critical thinking, problem solving, and team building into learning new information. Locks guarding hidden clues related to student learning must be figured out and opened before time runs out.

The friendly competition from participating in a breakout escape room, will motivate and engage my students to learn and apply science content.

The Breakout.edu online platform provides hundreds of games from many subject areas suitable for my students grade, levels, and interest. my students love looking for hidden clues and the writing from black light pens can only be seen with a special flashlights. After my students successfully "break out" they will have the opportunity to design their own, using these supplies. Help my 5th graders escape monotony enter a world of excitement.
