Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My fourth grade students LOVE science! Learning about how land is formed including weathering, deposition, and erosion is something they will be learning about.

My students need a rock tumbler, a metal strainer, and a book about erosion to make the process of erosion come to life!

I want my students to see the beginning and ending results of erosion in the classroom firsthand so that they can truly conceptualize how long it actually takes for the process to occur. We will first read a book about erosion. Then the long process of tumbling some rough rocks in the rock tumbler to simulate erosion will begin. It will take about a month for the entire process to be completed!
