My classroom, and school, is predominately made up of immigrants.
Many of these students also come from low-income households. They are kind, appreciative, hard-working students who have big dreams for their futures. Due to a tight budget, a very tight budget, and a need for more teachers in my building-- technology has appropriately been put on the back burner. I would like to bring technology into my curriculum for my students.
My Project
Earlier this year I was awarded a sizable grant to buy Apps for my students, unfortunately this grant restricted the purchase of technology. I envision using these tablets for small group instruction. Ideally, I would love to get more into the classroom, however this would be a wonderful start. We would use them for math games and instruction, reading groups, and for audio books for my English Language Learners and low level readers.
These donations will allow me to finally put my Apps grant to use!
Additionally, I will be able to acquire a wider array of teaching tools and resources to bring into my classroom environment.
