My Project

Dry erase boards turn reading and writing into an active, low-stakes, and highly engaging process, which leads to more practice—and more practice leads to stronger skills. They encourage practice without fear, strengthens spelling and phonics skills, provides immediate feedback, supports participation, and builds writing fluency. Using the dry erase board daily for guided practice and to record modeled strategies. The whiteboards allow me to see exactly what they are doing, as well as provide an easy place for them to show and share their work.

I love my students determination to work through every difficulty they have in reading and writing.

My students are performing below grade level and reading and writing is a struggle for them. Every day they continually amaze me when they work to fill in the gaps they have in the state standards in reading and writing. Utilizing the dry erase boards, it allows me to direct teaching of phonics (letter–sound relationships), model how to read and write (think-alouds), and

provide clear examples followed by guided practice.

The resources I am asking for will make lesson planning and organizing my classroom more efficient. I will be more prepared to model, teach, and assist my students during our instructional time together.
