I teach 18 four- year -old Pre-Kindergarteners who enjoy exploring and are learning to express their emotions through play. Playing is important for my students because it is how they learn to explore their feelings. Through play, they are able to carry on conversations among their peers and teachers.
Furthermore, through play my students are learning to solve problems, to get along with others, and they are building their creativity and questioning of how things work.
In addition, my students are becoming independent and they show great amount of self- confidence. They are inquisitive because they are eager to learn. They are always ready to soak up all I have to offer. Moreover, my students are learning skills that are needed to be successful for the rest of their lives.
One of the challenges I face in my classroom is the lack of storage. I do not have enough space to place my 10 units of studies. Presently, I am using cardboard boxes to place the materials, and toys needed for each unit. I have a small walk -in closet and the boxes cannot be stacked on top of each other. Therefore, they are taking a lot of space. I would like the plastic storage boxes so that I can place materials and stack them on top of each other without the risk of them falling. In addition, the 3 tier storage organizer would be used to separate art materials.
