Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Help empower students to create bold expressions of equity and justice! The stencils we need will serve us as design elements for the posters we are making. Every morning, our student-led equity team announces positive affirmations to help us feel proud and good about ourselves. Some examples say, I am strong, I am beautiful, I am loved. The majority of our students are English language learners from diverse backgrounds. We hope to draw from these rich funds of knowledge and diversity as we create our artworks.
Our posters will proclaim powerful affirmations of justice and equity for all.
We have letter stencils to design our messages. Your support will contribute additional uplifting design elements to our posters, such as hearts, flowers and geometric patterns. Our goals are to encourage students to envision a bright future for each other and foster social-emotional competencies such as, social awareness and relationship skills. Furthermore, we aim for students to combine literacy skills with art and design skills to express their messages successfully.
