My Project

I need my students to know that people are there to support and rally around them as they strive to be successful in the classroom. Whether it's a set of new folders, pencils, notebooks, or other required school supplies, kids need to know that adults care and are there to help support them. As I organize my office for students, a new file cabinet will help to house school supplies for students that will allow for easy access.

Through making sure that kids have the materials to be successful, we send the message that we care and are here to support them.

Often, just taking the time to help a student meet what seems to us to be a small need can make a huge difference in boosting their confidence and in enabling them to concentrate on learning.

Additionally, assisting struggling students in becoming more organized with appropriate school supplies or a snack when they're hungry can increase their feelings of self-efficacy and help them experience greater academic and social/emotional success.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
