My Students

My fifth-grade students are a wonderful set of children from diverse backgrounds, cultures, socio-economic status, and have an excitement for learning and growing. They are children that come from low-income households that do not always get the opportunity to have extensive physical education equipment at their exposure.

My students enjoy games that are team-based and have a lot of interaction.

They learn teamwork, about community, good sportsmanship and communication skills when doing things together. They learn that each person is an integral part of the project, game or team and each part is important.

My Project

Our students will be able to use the playground equipment for games, such as four-square and kickball. They will have basketballs to play basketball, tornado, or horse. They will be able to learn the rules of these games and many more and have the equipment to be able to play them correctly.

Proper equipment helps in not only the games being played correctly, but in the excitement of the students as they learn to work together to learn new skills.

Students yearn to be a part of something. Physical education is a way to get all students involved regardless of their background, ability and home life.
