Epic Lego Wall

My students need Lego baseplates to create a "Lego Wall" where they can practice math and science concepts.

My Students

Our school serves approximately 550 kindergarten through sixth grade students who come from various cultural and economic backgrounds. Dozens of languages are spoken by our students and their families. Our town has both rural and suburban areas where students live.

Our school is often the only place many of our students get a good meal, receive help with their schoolwork, have experiences that will mold their futures, and feel truly safe.

I believe our school is effective, welcoming, and important to the community and students it serves.

My Project

We want to create an "Epic Lego Wall" where students can use their creativity and practice math and science concepts. These baseplates will be glued to the wall in an accessible location where all classes can utilize it. We will seek donations of used Legos from our families and community.

The possibilities are truly limitless for this project!

For example, students learning multiplication might be asked to make as many different arrays they can for a particular number. In science, we can help teach energy and motion by creating "marble runs." I can't wait to see all of the ways our students will find to use this new resource!
