Environmental Science and Forensics - Life and Death

Help me give my students the science tools needed for long term experiments. The AP environmental students have the tanks, water and the student desire to build different biome terrarium. What they need are lights.

My Project

Science is best learned through hands-on labs and experiences. My AP Environmental Science students have asked to build biome terrariums. We have found tanks and supplies but they still need the lights to help the plants grow. Help them grow the plants to grow their knowledge.

Help to provide my students with real world hands-on activities.

Forensics is the perfect class that combines biology, chemistry, physics, and anatomy to answer the question of who did it or who is that? We will spend the year processing mini crime scenes to learn how to search and document a scene, lift and match fingerprints, analyze blood spatter, compare DNA samples, collect traces of hair, soil and paint, run toxicology tests and finally use bones to determine the gender, age and race of the victim to identify who that person was.

I strive to make my class as hands-on as possible. By applying what has been learned over the school year, the students are able to process and solve a staged crime scene as their final exam. Your support in providing the materials can make this experience as life-like as possible! They leave class feeling like real CSIs!
