I work in a small school in a very rural community. Many of my students struggle to attain even the most basic school supplies. This lack of financial stability in our community has a huge impact on our schools.
However, the financial hardships my students' experience don't hamper their enthusiasm for learning.
Much of our student population recognizes education as their ticket to a better future, and I want to help them reach as many of their goals as possible.
These materials will give my fifth-grade students access to some higher-level reading materials that are on current and exciting topics. Scope magazines provide students with a mixture of both fiction and nonfiction pieces in a layout that is appealing to students. They also provide teachers with additional materials (videos, audio, contest ideas, games, etc.) to enhance learning on specific subjects. These magazines will give my kids opportunities to challenge themselves while still keeping them engaged and on track with our content standards. I’ve used them in the past, and I would love for my new group of kids to benefit from this great resource too!
