This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Having painting supplies in our TK classroom will provide students with rich, hands-on experiences that support their growth and creativity. We are two new TK classes sharing a room and we have been working to optimize our classroom layout for play based learning. We have seen how much our student enjoy drawing, coloring, cut and pasting with our limited class room supplies and would love to enrich our classes by giving them the opportunity to express themselves via Painting.

Painting allows young children to explore colors, textures, and shapes while developing fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination—important foundations for writing and other early learning tasks.

It also gives them a meaningful way to express their feelings and ideas, helping to build confidence and emotional awareness. When children paint together, they learn to share materials, take turns, and appreciate each other’s artwork, promoting cooperation and social skills. Most importantly, painting encourages imagination and curiosity, turning the classroom into a joyful space where every child can experiment, create, and learn through art.
