I will be teaching over 29 kindergarten students. We have many wonderful programs at our school, including a Judy Center. My students are eager to learn and are very creative, resilient, and kind. Although my students come in ready to learn everyday, they don't always have the materials necessary to complete all of our tasks for the day or the things that we need to keep our classroom clean and healthy. My students and I would be so grateful to receive new materials that they can use to help them prepare for second grade and beyond!
My Project
This project will help my students to have access to engaging literacy centers to use independently while I work with other students during small group time. As beginning of the year kindergartners, my students need centers to help build their phonemic awareness skills. This project has several rhyming games as well as centers to address skill such as counting syllables, segmenting words, and sound manipulation.
Additionally, this project includes alphabet puzzles, matching games, alphabet bingo, sight word Jenga, and other engaging activities that my students will love!
These activities will allow students to work independently on very important skills while I work with small groups during literacy instruction.
