I currently teach 22, 5-6 year old students. My students are very inquisitive and eager to learn. They love engaging with technology to enhance their learning experience. Many of them are also very hands on learners. Their school is located in a low-income community in Northwest Baltimore. There are approximately 431 students in our school. 98% of the students are African-American and 92% qualify for free and reduced lunch. Our school is in an impoverished yet hopeful neighborhood. The school does awesome work to help students to grow academically as well as personally. Families benefit from a food pantry at the school, parenting classes, and a free after-school program at the school. I would love to give my students the opportunity to learn more about the people, places, and opportunities around them through the opportunity of interacting independently with their iPads during learning stations as well as by benefiting from the other materials requested.
