Students are using the fidgets, weighted lap pads, noise-reducing headphones, and calming corner materials every day to help regulate their bodies and emotions. These tools give them safe, healthy ways to manage overwhelming sensory input—especially during transitions, independent work, and whole-group lessons. Because of your generosity, students who often struggled to stay calm or focused now have concrete supports that help reduce anxiety, increase attention, and build confidence.\r\n\r\nOne moment that stands out happened just last week. A student who is highly sensitive to noise often becomes overwhelmed during writing block because of pencil tapping and hallway sounds. When I offered him the new noise-reducing headphones, he immediately relaxed his shoulders, opened his Chromebook, and worked for nearly the entire period without interruption. He later told me, \"It helps my brain be quiet.\" This simple tool allowed him to stay engaged, produce more writing than he ever has before, and feel proud of his success.\r\n\r\nAcross the classroom, similar moments are happening every day. The weighted lap pads are helping students stay grounded during circle time, fidgets are offering quiet outlets for extra energy, and the calming corner materials are teaching students how to take mindful breaks and return ready to learn. These supports are empowering students to shine academically and socially. Thank you for believing in our learners, honoring their sensory needs, and helping create a classroom where every student can thrive.","fullyFundedDate":1760447593479,"projectUrl":"project/help-support-our-students-sensory-needs/9753576/","projectTitle":"Help Support Our Students’ Sensory Needs","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Glinowiecki","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/1565132"},{"teacherId":479674,"projectId":9731496,"letterContent":"When the organizational materials arrived, my students were so excited to see the bright new chair pockets, fresh caddies, and the neatly arranged charging cords. Several students immediately began sorting their pencils, crayons, and notebooks into their chair pockets, proudly showing each other how organized their space had become. It was such a joy to watch them take ownership of their new materials and realize that these tools were meant to help them learn more comfortably and confidently each day.\r\n\r\nSince adding the caddies and storage solutions to our classroom, our small group time has become noticeably smoother. Students no longer spend time searching for missing supplies or waiting for a working iPad. With the extra charging cords and new device storage, our technology is ready to go each morning, allowing us to dive straight into reading rotations, math stations, and interactive lessons. I've already seen students transition more independently and stay engaged longer because everything they need is within easy reach.\r\n\r\nAs we move into our next units, these resources will continue to support students during collaborative work and independent practice. The organization tools have built a stronger sense of responsibility and pride in our classroom community. Their faces lit up when they saw the applesauce pouches, fruit snacks, and snack bars neatly organized and ready for them. One student excitedly said, \"Now I won't be hungry during reading time!\" These moments remind me of how something so simple can make such a meaningful impact.\r\n\r\nSince receiving these snacks, students have been able to stay more focused and engaged during lessons. Instead of worrying about hunger or feeling distracted, they can dive into small-group activities, reading workshops, and math stations with renewed energy. I've noticed improved participation and stamina, especially during our longer literacy blocks. These snacks have also become a quiet confidence-builder for students who may not always feel prepared or supported at home—now they know they have what they need to learn comfortably.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, these resources will continue to support our classroom community for months. Students are beginning a new unit that requires more sustained focus during independent reading and collaborative work. Many students, especially those with attention difficulties, sensory processing challenges, or anxiety, benefit from having a small object to manipulate. These fidget tools serve as a non-disruptive outlet for excess energy or nervousness, allowing students to remain engaged without distracting themselves or others. When fidgets are donated, they become accessible to all students regardless of their financial situation, promoting inclusivity and equal opportunities for support.\r\n\r\nIn addition to aiding concentration, donated fidgets help create a more supportive and understanding classroom environment. Teachers often notice that students who have access to appropriate sensory tools show increased participation and better behavior. When children feel their needs are recognized and accommodated, their confidence and willingness to learn grow. Donated fidgets also ease the workload on educators by providing a quick and easy way to assist students who might otherwise struggle to stay attentive, allowing teachers to focus more on instruction rather than behavioral management.\r\n\r\nFinally, the availability of donated fidgets fosters a culture of empathy and community within schools. Students who receive these tools often feel cared for and valued, which can positively influence their social and emotional development. Meanwhile, the act of donating fidgets encourages generosity and awareness among peers and community members. Overall, the donation of fidgets contributes to creating classrooms that are more inclusive, supportive, and conducive to learning for all students.","fullyFundedDate":1759198905170,"projectUrl":"project/all-aboard-for-learning/9674244/","projectTitle":"All Aboard for Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. West","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/246248"},{"teacherId":246248,"projectId":9178249,"letterContent":"On behalf of Arlington, I would like to extend our heartfelt thanks for your generous donation of headphones.
