My students need to explore the world of science in different ways. Our Head Start classroom is in search of a light table to explore STEM activities and use various toys in different ways.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Many of my students come from challenging home lives yet arrive to school optimistic and ready to learn. I want to be able to provide them with engaging lessons and ways to interact with learning. They are an energetic bunch of students so I want to do my best to make learning active and fun!
In order to channel their energy into learning, I want to do my best to make my classroom as interactive as possible in the world of science.
In order to do so, I want to provide students with various tools for them to learn with in the world of science.
My Project
The light table will help to enhance our science center in various ways. Students will be able to explore X-rays on the light table while we are discussing the human body during our exercise study. The visuals will help the students understand what bones look like and what they look like when we break them.
Students will also be able to explore the different ways to use Magna Tiles to build various buildings, shapes, and pictures.
All of these activities apply and reinforce the topics we study of buildings and how things change.
Students will be able to simply focus on the academic material at hand, and see how each of these items ties into the different cross curricular subjects!
