My Head Start Classroom is Federally funded, which means that my student's family income must be below the poverty level. This is a very low income level, which is why it is extremely important to me that I make the 17 children's learning environment as fun, challenging, and educational as possible. The resources of the child's family is limited and I try to help make their Head Start experience an excellent one.
Head Start was created to give these low income children an excellent educational experience before Kindergarten so they are better equipped and ready to learn.
My Project
Our classroom needs to add more math books to help the children improve their math skills. This project is designed to improve the math skills for our preschool classroom.
Math in preschool is important in developing long term skills that the children need in their later learning years and develop a life long love for math.
The books selected for my project are from many different areas of math, counting, sorting, patterns, colors, shapes, and measuring. The books are all colorful and the children will love to look at and read the books. They will have fun learning math by using these wonderful books.
