Help me give my students opportunities to enhance their learning through STEM with supplemental materials. This includes magnetic letters, building toys, and other items.
I have fifteen preschool age students in my classroom. My students are a mixed group: three, four, and five-year-olds. I have my students for two years, prior to them entering Kindergarten. My classroom is general education, however, I do have a few special education/PIRT students.
My students have such curious minds.
They love to take materials apart and figure out new ways to put them back together. As a teacher, it is so rewarding to be able to observe and to be a part of such learning.
My Project
I selected a variety of supplemental materials for my students. Preschool children need to be exposed to new materials to hold their attention and to increase their desire to learn. Therefore, the materials will be rotated throughout the year.
STEM stands for science, technology, engineering, and math.
STEM refers to the students working individually or together. With STEM, students will be engaged in active learning such as they will solve problems, manipulate, and participate in child language and thought, while exploring the materials.
Not all of my students are exposed to such materials/opportunities at home. I will love to be able to provide as many learning opportunities as I can to all of my students.
