We are a diverse community of creative and active eighth grade students in Minnesota. All eighth grade students experience my Robotics and Engineering classes, including students with learning disabilities and students who are English learners. My class is an essential way for them to be exposed to engineering and problem solving.
My students love coming to my class and are excited for every engineering challenge they are presented with.
My students are amazing problem solvers. They use their understanding of the engineering design process to design and create solutions. My students are eager to learn the science and technologies that will help them problem solve and design solutions.
My class involves many hands-on projects, which students build various models out of various materials. Many of these activities involve cutting cardboard and using hot glue guns. Having safe tools like the Zip Snips will allow students the power to cut the materials in a safe matter, as well as give them experience with a tool. The hobby holster will be combined with the napkin holders to make hot glue gun stations. These stations will allow students to put the hot glue gun in a safe holder while they are waiting for the glue on their projects to dry. This will help reduce accidental burns when students accidentally put their hands down on the hot glue.
