This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My Students are amazing, they are full of positive energy and curiosity. They come from different parts of the world each unique and eager to learn.

My students are dual language learners.

We use plenty of color-coded visuals that help them differentiate and better understand keywords and topics. Printing material is a daily task in our class. Color is used in printed text to improve a student's learning comprehension, especially for students who struggle with focus. These visual aids are used for reading, math, writing strategies, and vocabulary. Color engages and inspires students, facilitating the creative and critical thinking that is so important for creating new ideas. Our school has no color printers at the moment. To remedy this I print our visual aids with spaces in between, so I can then hand write the necessary words in color markers so they can stand out. Color printing is a powerful asset to all teachers.

The portable whiteboard will allow me to adapt to a different environment. This will help me with small-group instruction. Whiteboards and other writable surfaces are a fantastic addition to any learning space. They can help to support collaboration and creativity.
