Help me give my students the opportunity to utilize iPads in our daily classsroom routine. My classroom received a DonorsChoose grant a couple of years ago and was funded for five iPads.
I have an amazing group of second graders this year, who love to learn! We are from a small rural community, where all of our students receive free breakfasts and lunches due to the low economic status of our families. Our building is unique because it is made up of pre-k through second-grade students.
My students are enthusiastic about learning, and are risk takers in our classroom.
We love working together in small groups and constantly strive to work hard, be nice and do great things! We are a "Bucket Filling" classroom and take pride in random acts of kindness to each other and the staff at our school. Currently, we have started a service project and are collecting supplies and donations for our local animal shelter.
My second graders are my family, and I am passionate about their learning, making memories and instilling positive character traits that will last a lifetime!
My Project
My students currently use our five iPads for all subject areas. I have 21 second graders, so a few more would really benefit my kids. Currently we use the iPads for math and reading centers. Students love playing Prodigy, Reflex Math and Extra Math during Math Centers. During reading, GET Epic is a student favorite for e-books, and National Geographic for kids is utilized for research.
We also have intervention programs for our struggling, at level and advanced students.
Many of these programs require technology. I would love to be able to service more students. If I had more iPads, that would be possible.
Any donations to my class project are appreciated! Thank you very much for considering my request.
