Help me give my students outside of the classroom experiences while enchanting their literacy skills.

I have the privilege of teaching and working with awesome pre-kindergarten students who have developmental and/or cognitive delays. I teach in a title one school where most served are from low-income families. My students require special care, educational and social/emotional support throughout their day at school. All of my students receive services ranging from speech/language, occupational and physical therapies in addition to their standard course of studies. Due to their special needs, they have not had the ability, nor the privilege of exploring the world around them.
My EC Pre-K students are amazing and deserve to have experiences that will foster their educational and developmental growth!
They can put a smile on your face and give a lot of love for your heart. Yes, some days can be challenging, but most importantly, they are rewarding! My students are very passionate about everything they do and will give their all in most every situation. They have taught me more about living life and giving everything I have, as a teacher, as an individual and as a mother. Through all of the challenges faced each day, their optimism shines through and gives me hope for their future success in life.
The Scholastic News weekly reader magazines will provide my EC Pre-K students with literacy, science, social studies and so much more. Having access to this magazine in our classroom will enhance with discovery of non-fiction, real life animals, people, and children around the world just like them.
Fostering their literacy and outside of the classroom experiences are very important for their learning and development.
My students are very limited in their social experiences due their developmental needs and low-economic family status. The Scholastic News magazine will give them more experiences right from our classroom. Experiences they will take with them as they grow and develop.
